Video Being Added

Our goal for 2008 has been to add interesting video to our courses. Presently the Scriptures in video are being added to the Acts course. Also, the New King James Version is being added in audio. It is getting easy to download files and play them on portable players.

A course has been added on the use of e-Sword, the online Bible program. It is very useful and translations, dictionaries, commentaries and maps can be added by the user at no cost. See course SI 100 under BIBLE.

Audio Added

The spoken Scriptures are being added to some courses including Daniel, Acts, Ephesians and The Life of Christ.

These files can be saved and downloaded to a MP3 player such as an iPod.

10 Young Men Commit

At a church rally in Reno, Nevada, 10 young men committed themselves to the preaching of the gospel of Christ. Their names are: Brandon Adams,Chad Anderson, Creighton Reyman, Jason Tene, Jeff Miller, Kelly Master, Kenneth Mickey, Kraig Mickey, Michael Doherty, and Nathan Racine.

Some of their schooling will be distance learning such as NCB Online. It is wise to pray for these men by name as they and their advisors develop a plan of education.

Video for 2008

Courses using video in part or entirely are planned for 2008. During 2007 audio was added to several courses enabling students to download course content to their portable MP3 players such as iPods.

With this same goal in mind, some courses will have video files that can be saved to newer video players.

Welcome International Students

As of this morning, students have registered from 10 nations outside of the United States. We noticed students from Australia, Barbados, China, Columbia, India, Nigeria, Philippines, Romania, Ukraine and Vatican City.

We are honored to have each one studying with us.

This Morning Was Historic for Missions

Former NCB student Jaffet Perez just called (via Skype) to report a breakthrough in distance teaching. Vaughn Elliott is at his home in Massachusetts teaching in Spanish a video class to a group of men in Guatemala. Jaffet just left the "party" to slip out and report.

The connection uses MSN Messenger for both audio and video. We will explore this method of distance teaching in our Missions MN203 class. It will be in session 16.

Acts Course Accepts Guests

For a limited time, the College-level Acts course has been opened to guests. All facilities are available. However, tests will not be corrected and there will not be credit for the course.

The University of California is making some of its online courses available at no cost and without credit. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) will have more than 1,800 courses online for no cost by 2008.

We will test the no-test, no-credit approach to learning.
